Major Celebrations Happening In Hartford This Weekend

HARTFORD, CT — City police are urging pedestrians and motorists alike to be careful this weekend with several major events planned.

Police said several festivals and celebrations — dubbed "high-attendance events" — are on the schedule.

With Mother Nature expected to bring bright, sunny weather and non-heat wave temperatures, crowds could be heavy in the city July 19-21.

As a result, the HPD said the confluence of celebrations "will heavily impact traffic in the downtown district."

Police said the following events will be ongoing:

Friday

• Riverfront Food Truck Festival, Mortensen Riverfront Plaza, 300 Columbus, Blvd., at 11 a.m.

• ConnectiCon, Connecticut Convention Center, 100 Columbus Blvd., at 9 a.m.

• Greater Hartford Festival of Jazz, Bushnell Park, 60 Elm St., 4:30 p.m.

• Latino Fest, Dunkin' Park, 1214 Main St., 5 p.m.

Saturday

• Riverfront Food Truck Festival, Mortensen Riverfront Plaza, 300 Columbus, Blvd., at 11 a.m.

• ConnectiCon, Connecticut Convention Center, 100 Columbus Blvd., at 9 a.m.

• Greater Hartford Festival of Jazz, Bushnell Park, 60 Elm St., 1 p.m.

• Latino Fest, Dunkin' Park, 1214 Main St., noon.

Sunday

• ConnectiCon, Connecticut Convention Center, 100 Columbus Blvd., at 9 a.m.

• Greater Hartford Festival of Jazz, Bushnell Park, 60 Elm St., 9 a.m.
