Major Food Fest Starts Friday In Hartford
The large 'Hartford Taste' food festival June 7-8 has a new location this year downtown and it features more than 30 restaurants/performers.

HARTFORD, CT — One of the Hartford area's biggest food festivals will take place this Friday and Saturday in a brand-new location downtown.
"Hartford Taste," presented by The Hartford, recently announced the event will return to a new downtown location on Pratt and Trumbull streets after previously being located in Constitution Plaza.
It kicks off Friday, June 7, and continues Saturday, June 8, from noon to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The festival is open to the public with free admission and proceeds benefit Connecticut Foodshare, which aids food banks for those in need statewide.
It will feature more than 30 restaurants, 30 musical acts, and several artists.

The Hartford insurance company is covering all vendor fees so restaurants can participate for free.
“The Hartford has proudly insured small businesses for more than 200 years, and we’ve called the city of Hartford our home for the duration,” said Lynn Kennedy, head of small commercial sales and distribution at The Hartford. “Hartford Taste is a unique opportunity to celebrate the collective strength of our community by showcasing the local small business owners who dedicate themselves to their craft each day.”
This year’s event will highlight a mix of new and returning vendors.
Hartford Taste will also feature two sound stages with a wide range of musical acts and live art demonstrations.
“We’re thrilled to announce the return of Hartford Taste in its new downtown location,” said Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam. “Pratt and Trumbull streets will act as a centralized hub where people from across the capital region can sample a diverse range of food, art and music from each of our neighborhoods."
“We are excited to add the ‘street festival’ dynamic to Hartford Taste this year,” added Marc Sherer, founder of the event.“Having the new Hartford entertainment district as the backdrop for this event will provide a fun, immersive experience for attendees. Our guests from across the region will love this cool and easily accessible location.”
