Update: Crashes On I-84 In Hartford Cleared
Two crashes a short time apart had caused large traffic jams.

HARTFORD, CT — It was a hectic morning commute for rush-hour motorists on Interstate 84 Wednesday morning, with two separate accidents close together causing large traffic backups.
Both crashes, however, have not been cleared.
The first accident, involving two vehicles, was reported at 6:35 a.m. on I-84 west between exits 48 and 47, causing a 1.6-mile traffic jam that was expected to close lanes there, according to the state Department of Transportation.

DOT officials report this accident has backed up traffic into East Hartford.
By 7:22 a.m., the DOT reported via Twitter that the crash was cleared.

Shortly that accident, according to the DOT, another accident was reported at 6:38 a.m. between exits 50 and 48 westbound on I-84.
This two-vehicle wreck had resulted in the left lane being closed, according to state officials.
As of 6:51 p.m., that accident had been cleared, according to the DOT's Twitter feed.
