Major Traffic Jam After Hartford Tractor Trailer Crash

HARTFORD, CT — Traffic is backed up more than 2 miles after a tractor-trailer accident on Interstate 84 in Hartford Monday afternoon, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The DOT reports the crash being between exits 48 and 47 on the westbound side of I-84, creating a 2.1-mile traffic jam all the way back to Exit 56.

It has closed the two left lanes of the highway, the DOT said.

The crash was first reported at 4:04 p.m. and it was "unknown" when it would be cleared, according to the DOT.
