Man, 26, Shot Dead In Hartford Friday Evening: Police

The Hartford resident was rushed to a nearby hospital, but later died.

HARTFORD, CT — A 26-year-old Hartford man was shot dead Friday evening on Francis Avenue, with police still investigating the incident.

According to the Hartford Police Department, the victim has been identified as Teixeira Dorival, 26, of Preston Street in Hartford.

Police said at approximately 6:08 p.m. Friday, patrol officers responded to the area of 145 Francis Ave. on reports of shots fired.

"Upon arrival, officers located a victim of gunfire. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries," wrote the HPD in a release.

The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions responded to the scene and assumed control of the investigation.
