Man, 43, Shot Dead In Hartford Early Wednesday; Victim Identified: Police: UPDATE

Police found the man unresponsive, and the victim was pronounced 'dead' after being rushed to the hospital.

HARTFORD, CT — The Hartford Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting after officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert and a report of an unresponsive person on Rowe Avenue, authorities said.

Police were dispatched to the area of 98 Rowe Ave., where they found a man in the roadway suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, according to the Hartford Police Department.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced dead.

Authorities have identified the victim as Alfredo Cuellar, 42, of Hartford.

The department’s Major Crimes and Crime Scene divisions have taken over the investigation, which remains active and ongoing.
