Man Charged With Stabbing East Hartford Police Officer
A man is facing multiple charges after a confrontation with police over the weekend.
EAST HARTFORD, CT — A man is facing charges after he allegedly stabbed a police officer in the leg during an incident Saturday, according to The Journal-Inquirer. Charles Zuhauskas, 62, of 7 Edgewood St., was charged with second-degree assault, six counts of interfering with a police officer, criminal attempt to commit second-degree assault, two counts of second-degree threatening, four counts of assault on a police officer, and cruelty toward a police K9 unit.
The police officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries and has been released from the hospital.
Police received the call shortly after 2 p.m. that there was an intoxicated man outside 7 Edgewood St. It reportedly took six officers and a police dog to subdue Zuhauskas, The Journal-Inquirer reported.
