Man To Face Attempted Murder, Kidnapping Charges: Hartford PD

A man was arrested after he kidnapped his girlfriend's son and stabbed her more than 30 times, according to police.

HARTFORD, CT — A man was taken into custody in New York after he stabbed his girlfriend more than 30 times and kidnapped her son, according to police.

Edgar Maldonado, 23, was arrested after the New Year's Day incident in Hartford, according to the Connecticut Post.

The 6-year-old boy was found safe in Worcester, Mass. hours after the stabbing, police said. The woman, 43, was last reported to be in critical condition.

Maldonado is being held as a fugitive from justice in New York and will be charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, assault and risk of injury to a minor, according to NBC Connecticut.
