Man Illegally Hunted Wild Turkeys: Authorities
The incident occurred at a game property in Bloomfield.

BLOOMFIELD, CT - A 62-year-old local man was arrested by state Environmental Conservation Police early Wednesday for alleged illegal turkey hunting at the Bloomfield Game Club on Terry Plains Road.
Mark Zanawich was hunting from behind a blind on the property, and he was allegedly baiting turkeys with cracked corn, which is prohibited, according to EnCon police. He also lacked a permit to hunt wild turkey.
An anonymous tip led to Zanawich's arrest, said EnCon police. Today, April 27, marks the opening day for legal wild turkey hunting in Connecticut.
