Man Shot In The Chest In East Hartford Following Dispute: Officials
The suspect, 33-year-old James Tate from West Hartford, discharged a firearm during the dispute, according to officials.
EAST HARTFORD, CT — A man was shot in the chest in East Hartford Sunday night following a physical dispute, town officials said Monday.
The shooting was reported at 9:48 p.m. in a parking lot in the 400 block of Silver Lane, from where the victim was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition, according to officials.
The suspect, 33-year-old James Tate from West Hartford, discharged a firearm during the dispute and fled the area before police arrived, officials said.

Tate turned himself in and is facing charges of first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, carrying a pistol without a permit, illegal discharge of a firearm, and second-degree breach of peace, according to officials.
He is currently being held on a $250,000 bond.

"The investigation is still active, and detectives are currently going through surveillance videos and speaking with possible witnesses," officials said, adding that "this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no immediate threat to the public."
