Man Stabbed, Tries to Drive to Hartford Hospital: Police

The man was in the midst of a drug transaction, police said.

AVON/HARTFORD, CT — An Avon man was stabbed in a drug transaction and was in the midst of driving himself to Hartford Hospital when police and medical responders intervened, a Hartford police official said.

The incident was at 12:18 a.m., Thursday, HPD Deputy Chief Brian Foley said. Police responded to the report of a man at a parking lot at 85 Seymour St., who was being treated for non-life-threatening stab wounds to his left leg and arm, Foley said.

He was transported from the parking lot to Hartford Hospital, Foley said.

A witness told officers the man was stabbed while in the driver's seat of the car while attempting to purchase drugs on Madison Street, Foley said.

Police aid they are looking for three Hispanic males, all about 16-years-old. All were about 5-foot-3, police said. One was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and another had curly hair, police said.
