Man Wanted For Murder In Puerto Rico Caught In Hartford: Feds

HARTFORD, CT — A man living in Hartford under an alias for the last year was taken into custody on murder charges, according to a statement from U.S. Marshals. Jeffrey Lopez-Alameda, 42, was taken into custody Thursday morning on charges of first-degree murder, attempted murder, and violations of the Weapons Act.

Lopez-Alameda was arrested at 260 Hillside Ave. and was living in the Hartford area under the alias of Radames Negron Gonzalez. He obtained a valid Connecticut driver's license with a stolen social security card and had been living in the state under this stolen identity for over a year.

The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico issued an arrest warrant for Lopez-Alameda May 31, 2019.

According to U.S. Marshals, Lopez-Alameda was so successful at concealing his identity that his neighbors and fiancée were unaware of his real name.

Lopez-Alameda was arrested without incident and transported to the Hartford Police Department, where he is awaiting extradition to Puerto Rico.
