I-84 Crash Cleared In Hartford: UPDATE

HARTFORD, CT — A multi-vehicle wreck on Interstate 84 Monday morning caused a massive traffic backup for morning commuters, according to the state Department of Transportation, but the accident has now been cleared.

The DOT reports the three-vehicle crash was on I-84 East between exits 48 and 49, initially resulting in the closure of the left and right lanes but, eventually, requiring the highway's closure.

According to the DOT, the situation had caused a 3.5-mile traffic jam between exits 43 and 49 in the capital city.

The accident was first reported at 6:47 a.m. and it is now no longer listed on the DOT's incident list.
