GREATER HARTFORD, CT — November is National Veterans and Military Families Month, a time to recognize veterans, active-duty service members and the families who support them.

Veterans Day falls on Wednesday, Nov. 11, this year, bringing another round of freebies and special offers from restaurants, retailers and other businesses. But some military discounts aren't limited to Veterans Day. Veterans, service members and military families can find ways to save throughout November and, in some cases, year-round.

Connecticut Science Center

250 Columbus Boulevard, Hartford

According to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Alumni Association, the Connecticut Science Center in Hartford offers discounted admission and memberships for military members. Tickets are available for $16 instead of the regular $24 through the Coast Guard Academy's Morale, Well-Being and Recreation (MWR) program. Military members can also receive 15% off memberships by presenting a military ID or proof of service at the Science Center.

Hartford Stage

50 Church Street, Hartford

Hartford Stage offers active-duty military members, veterans and their immediate families 50% off performance tickets through its Blue Star Theatres program. Eligible guests can also receive 25% off youth and adult education programs. Tickets can be purchased online using promo code BLUE50, by calling (860) 527-5151 or by visiting the box office; proof of military service is required for the first purchase. Some performances may be excluded.

Hartford Toyota Superstore

135 West Service Road, Hartford

Toyota is thanking those who serve with a $500 military rebate available on new vehicle purchases and leases. The program is open to active-duty military members, inactive reservists, retirees, veterans within two years of discharge and eligible household members, including Gold Star families. To qualify, customers must verify their military eligibility and complete their purchase or lease through a Toyota dealer and Toyota Financial Services.

Square Peg Pizzeria

130 Long Hill Street, East Hartford

Square Peg Pizzeria is showing its appreciation for those who serve with a 15% discount on meals. The offer is available to active-duty military members, veterans and first responders, including police officers, firefighters and EMTs. Customers simply need to show a valid military, veteran or first responder ID to receive the discount.

Hartford Wolf Pack

1 Civic Center Plaza, Hartford

The Hartford Wolf Pack offers active-duty and retired military members discounted tickets to its hockey games. Eligible fans can purchase $15 tickets in the blue seating section by presenting a valid military ID at The Hartford Ticket Office. Military members can also verify their status online to purchase discounted tickets in advance.

Michaels

Putnam Bridge Plaza | 5 Main Street, #5B, East Hartford

Michaels recognizes the dedication of military personnel with an ongoing 15% discount on eligible purchases. Service members and their immediate families can access the benefit by creating or signing into a Michaels Rewards account and verifying their eligibility. The offer applies to qualifying regular-priced and sale merchandise but excludes clearance items, gift cards and select brands.
