Multi-Vehicle Crash Cleared On Route 2: UPDATE

EAST HARTFORD, CT — A three-vehicle crash on rain-slickened Route 2 Thursday afternoon caused major traffic headaches, according to the state Department of Transportation, but it is now cleared.

The DOT reports the crash was on Route 2 West between exits 4 and 3, resulting in the closure of the three left lanes.

Because of the wreck, a 2-mile stretch of highway between exits 5A and 3 was congested.

The accident was first reported at 2:35 p.m. and it is now no longer listed on the DOT's incident list.
