Murphy To Be On Hand For Tree Lighting In Hartford

HARTFORD, CT — U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., will be in the city Thursday evening for a special neighborhood Christmas tree lighting event.

At 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 1, Murphy, in partnership with the Spanish American Merchants Association, will host the annual Barnard Park Tree Lighting to bring holiday cheer to the neighborhood.

The tree lighting celebration, now in its third year, will feature a performance by the UConn Conn-Men and complimentary hot chocolate.

Volunteers will also be distributing free scarves and socks to community members.

Barnard Park is located at 25 Main St. in Hartford.
