Volunteer ground search teams have been deployed to check the properties adjacent to where McGhee had been staying, and all-terrain vehicles are now being used to check the pipeline easement nearby, according to police.

In a 9 a.m. update, police said volunteer units were being sent to an area containing a bayou and retention ponds, which may be attractive to autistic children.
