TORRINGTON, Conn. — For generations, O&G Industries has invested in the community it calls home. At Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, that partnership has been felt in very real ways — by patients facing surgery, people navigating a cancer diagnosis, families seeking support and neighbors who want access to exceptional care without having to leave their community.

Most recently, O&G Industries made a generous $1 million gift to support the purchase of a new Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator for the Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.

The new TrueBeam Linear Accelerator will bring advanced radiation therapy technology to patients receiving cancer care at Charlotte Hungerford. With sophisticated imaging and precision that allow clinicians to more accurately target tumors while protecting surrounding healthy tissue, the technology will enhance the cancer care available to patients close to home.

“Every person has been touched by cancer in some way, and we understand the difference that timely, high-quality treatment can make for patients and their families,” said Christina Oneglia-Rossi, Vice President, O&G Industries. “Hartford HealthCare and Charlotte Hungerford Hospital consistently demonstrate a deep commitment to exceptional cancer care. We are honored to support this investment in advanced radiation technology and know it will have a meaningful impact on patients across the region.”

The gift continues a long history of O&G’s support for Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. From helping bring the da Vinci Surgical System to the hospital and supporting the Pink Rose Fund to many years of partnership through the hospital’s annual golf classic, O&G has helped strengthen healthcare in northwest Connecticut in ways both large and deeply personal.
