October In Greater Hartford: Fall Fun, Festivals & More

Fall is officially here in Greater Hartford, and there’s no shortage of ways to make the most of it. From festivals and farmers markets to pumpkin patches, live music and other seasonal fun, October brings plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy what’s happening close to home.

Here are some events and activities happening in and around Greater Hartford this October.

Blue Back Farmers’ Market

When: Sundays now through Oct. 25, 2026, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: West Hartford Town Hall Lot | 50 South Main Street, West Hartford

Spend a Sunday morning shopping local at the Blue Back Farmers’ Market, where vendors offer everything from seasonal produce and farm-fresh meats to baked goods, coffee and more. Live music, kids’ activities and rotating special events add a little extra fun to each week’s shopping trip. The market runs Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the West Hartford Town Hall parking lot.

Harvest GLOW Hartford

When: Saturdays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sundays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., now through Oct. 11, 2026
Where: Connecticut Convention Center | 100 Columbus Boulevard, Hartford

Fall gets a colorful indoor makeover at Harvest GLOW Fest, running weekends from Sept. 12 through Oct. 11, 2026, at the Connecticut Convention Center. Families can explore illuminated fall displays and an indoor pumpkin patch, then check out activities including face painting, train rides, pumpkin painting and indoor putting courses. The festival is open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with tickets available in advance.

Ghost Tours Of The Mark Twain House

When: Fridays & Saturdays throughout October
Where: The Mark Twain House & Museum | 351 Farmington Avenue, Hartford

Step into the darker side of Hartford history during Ghost Tours of The Mark Twain House, where haunted tales meet Victorian traditions surrounding séances and spirits. Along the way, visitors will hear about paranormal investigations of the historic home and Mark Twain’s own interest in the supernatural. Tours include discussions of real people, death and dying, and tickets are nonrefundable.

Halloween Stroll 2026

When: Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Where: Blue Back Square | 65 Memorial Road, West Hartford

Fill up those treat bags during Halloween Stroll 2026, a free trick-or-treating event spread throughout West Hartford Center, Blue Back Square and the Town Hall Lawn. Families can visit participating businesses for treats and giveaways, while Sunny Train will bring live music to Blue Back Square. If bad weather gets in the way, the event will move to its rain date of Oct. 25, 2026.

Spooky Cute Party

When: Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Angel Land | 1433 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford

Little Bluey and Bingo fans have an extra reason to dress up for the Spooky Cute Party at Angel Land in West Hartford. Along with a character meet-and-greet from 11 a.m. to noon, kids can dance, win prizes, collect a treat and enjoy plenty of indoor play. The Halloween festivities are included with regular weekend admission, and families are welcome to stay and play throughout the day.
