Offroad ATVs A Common Scourge On Hartford City Streets: HPD
Hartford police report these two-, three-, and four-wheeled ATVs are stolen and being driven in parks and on sidewalks.
HARTFORD, CT — City police have plenty to deal with on the crime front and one bugaboo bugging the Hartford Police Department is causing major safety concerns.
The HPD recently warned residents about off-road vehicles being used on city streets, sidewalls, and parks.
Police said they belong in specially designated areas that allow them, such a private property and with permission.

In Hartford, however, the HPD says they are, more and more, being seen in traffic and among pedestrians ... a significant safety concern.
"We will continue to take proactive measures in taking these often recklessly driven vehicles off of our streets and parks," wrote the HPD.

Police said, many of the vehicles have, actually, been stolen and officers are frequently catching the scofflaws and returning the vehicles to their owners.
