Gymnast Biles To Perform In Bridgeport, Hartford Show Canceled

HARTFORD, CT — Simone Biles, widely considered the greatest gymnast of all-time, is scheduled to perform along with other gymnasts in Bridgeport on Wednesday after the show's stop in Hartford on Tuesday night was canceled.

Biles is headlining the Gold Over America Tour, which includes Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, Grace McCallum and MyKayla Skinner. The tour, which wraps up later this week in Boston, was to have made an appearance at the XL Center Hartford before moving onto Bridgeport on Wednesday, organizers said.

An XL Center representative told Patch Tuesday afternoon that the Hartford date had been canceled.

The show includes a combination of the gymnasts’ favorite routines, career highlights, social media interactions and other personal videos.

Biles has won 32 Olympic and World Championship medals and is tied with American Shannon Miller as the most decorated Olympian of all-time.

“The Athleta Presents Gold Over America Tour will match athleticism and entertainment,” Biles said in a news release. “The show embodies the themes of empowerment and togetherness which was on display in Tokyo. Together, all the gymnasts on this tour want to inspire the next generation of women and athletes.”

Tickets for the Bridgeport show start at $21 and floor seats for the performance retail at $166. Fans who purchase a premium ticket experience will have the opportunity to perform with the team at the tour finale and have a photo taken with Biles and her teammates.
