Overnight Fire Displaces 5 In Hartford

The Red Cross is providing emergency assistance to five adults affected in the residence.

HARTFORD, CT — An overnight fire in Hartford’s North End displaced five adults from a residential building on Jackson Boulevard, according to a statement Thursday morning from Hartford Fire Fighters Local 760.

Firefighters with the Hartford Fire Department responded to what officials described as a “working fire” at a residential property on Jackson Boulevard.

Crews arrived to find active fire conditions and quickly extinguished the blaze.

No injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross said it is assisting one family affected by the fire, consisting of five adults.

Volunteers provided emergency support to help meet the family’s immediate needs after the incident.

The Red Cross also gave the displaced residents a recovery envelope with information about cleaning up after a fire, contacting important services, and handling damaged belongings.

Comfort kits containing personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, and shaving supplies were also distributed.

In the coming days, the family will connect with Red Cross caseworkers to develop a longer-term recovery plan, the organization said.

The assistance is funded through donations and supported by volunteer responders.

The cause of the fire was not immediately released.
