Parents Arrested After Abandoning 6-Week-Old Baby: Hartford PD

The parents got into an altercation and chased each other away while leaving their baby on a cold sidewalk, police said.

HARTFORD, CT — Two Hartford parents were arrested after they abandoned their 6-week-old baby on a sidewalk, police said.

Kenya Anderson, 22, and Eddie Stevens, 54, were charged with risk of injury to a minor, child abandonment and other charges, according to court records.

The two had gotten into a verbal altercation and chased each other while leaving the baby on a sidewalk, according to Fox 61. A Good Samaritan took the baby inside a laundromat until police arrived.

Anderson told the Good Samaritan to keep the baby because she didn't want another DCF case, police said.
