Pedestrian Killed Crossing Hartford Street
Police said a man was hit by a car while crossing a Hartford street Thursday.

HARTFORD, CT — A pedestrian was killed while crossing a Hartford street on Thursday morning, police said.
At 6:04 a.m. Thursday, Hartford police were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Groton and Wyllys streets, where a pedestrian had been Deputy Chief Brian Foley said.
The 52-year-old man had been hit while crossing Wyllys Street at Groton Street and was found suffering from serious injuries, Foley said.

He was transported by ambulance to Hartford Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The operator of the vehicle, a 29-year-old female from East Hartford, was driving west on Wyllys Street on her way to work, he said.

She remained at the scene and has been cooperating with the investigation, Foley said.
Accident reconstruction detectives are investigating the crash and the Crime Scene Division is seeking any witnesses, Foley said. Anyone with information can contact Sgt. Jason Lee at 860-757-4341.
