Elderly East Hartford Man Identified As Hit-And-Run Victim: Update
The vehicle in question that killed the 70-year-old man is believed to be a Hyundai.
EAST HARTFORD, CT — East Hartford police Friday morning have released the identity of the man killed in a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian incident Wednesday night.
The EHPD wrote in an update Friday morning that George Tetteh-Quarshie, 70, of Connecticut Boulevard, East Hartford, was struck and killed by motorist.
Police said Notifications to the victim’s family have been made.

Meanwhile, the EHPD said they're seeking the public's help as they investigate a fatal hit-and-run, car-versus-pedestrian accident that happened Wednesday night.
According to the EHPD, at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the intersection of Main and Pitkin streets for a report of a male struck by a motor vehicle.

Police found a male, who was later identified as Tette-Quarshire, laying in the intersection and severely injured.
The East Hartford Fire Department was also on scene and immediately initiated lifesaving measures.
Police said the victim was transported to Hartford Hospital by ASM where he was pronounced deceased.
The vehicle which struck the victim evaded the scene, according to the EHPD.
Police are looking for a silver Hyundai Elantra or Hyundai Sonata between the years 2011 and 2016, with damage to the front and drivers’ side of the vehicle.
The EHPD asks that anyone with information regarding the crash or the suspect vehicle contact Lt. Daniel Caruso at 860-291-7571.
