Police, DCF Investigating How 4-Year-Old Girl Left Hartford School, Walked Home Alone

The girl walked nearly a half-mile alone and crossed a busy street before being spotted and accompanied home by a woman.

HARTFORD, CT — A 4-year-old girl walked out of a Hartford elementary school without being noticed Tuesday afternoon and walked nearly a half-mile to her home alone, and authorities are now investigating the matter, Fox61 reported.

The girl's mother was scheduled to pick her up early from the Thirman Milner Elementary School that day, but the girl asked to go to the bathroom before her mom arrived and walked out unnoticed, the station reported.

The girl made it home nearly the entire way, even crossing a busy intersection, before a woman saw her and accompanied her to her door.
