Police: Hartford Man Stole Tesla Tires

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A Hartford man was taken into custody this week and charged in connection with two November 2021 incidents in which police said he broke into a local automotive shop and stole Tesla tires and wheels.

Police Wednesday said they charged Bryan R. Lopez, 35, of Hartford on two active arrest warrants on Tuesday.

According to a release issued by the SWPD, Lopez was identified through both surveillance footage and DNA evidence.

Police said Lopez broke into a shed at 856 Sullivan Ave., which is Jarvis Automotive, and stole Tesla wheels and tires.

Lopez was processed on two separate warrants and was presented in Manchester Superior Court Tuesday.

According to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website Thursday, Lopez is facing two counts of third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny charges.

He will appear in Manchester Superior Court July 14.
