Police: Man Stopped in Hartford and Charged for Firing Gun From Car on I-84
He is accused of several crimes, state police said.

EAST HARTFORD, CT - A man was tracked down by authorities on Tuesday after he reportedly fired a gun out a vehicle window while on Interstate-84, state police said.
State police from the Troop H barracks in Hartford were alerted to the incident at 8:03 p.m. on Tuesday.
The car traveled from Exit 58 in East Hartford westbound to the Exit 47 off-ramp and to Farmington Avenue, where he was stopped by state troopers and Hartford police officers, state police said. A .45-caliber Springfield Armory XDS handgun that was reported stolen on Monday and a plastic bag containing 1 ounce of suspected marijuana was found in the car, state police said.

The front seat passenger, Giovanni Omar Rodriguez, 20, of Summerhill Road in Middletown was taken into custody, state police said.

- Possession of a controlled substance
- Carrying a pistol without a permit
- Weapons in a motor vehicle
- Risk of injury to a child
- Stealing a firearm
- Criminal possession of a firearm
- Unlawful discharge of a firearm
- First-degree reckless endangerment
He was being held on a $250,000 bond Wednesday morning and has been assigned a court date of Aug. 2, state police said.
