Presidents Day 2026 Impacts Announced In Hartford
Monday is Presidents Day, with towns and cities across Connecticut announcing multiple impacts on services.
HARTFORD, CT — This Monday is Presidents Day, and several municipal impacts in town offices and schools have recently been announced.
In the City of Hartford, all municipal departments will be closed on Monday, Feb. 16, in observance of the holiday.
In addition, all Hartford Public Library locations will also be closed that day, town officials said.

As a result of the holiday, trash and recycling collection will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week, wrote the city's public works department.
If the regularly scheduled collection day is Monday, items will be picked up on Tuesday.

This "sliding schedule" will continue through Saturday, Feb. 21, to complete the week's routes.
In Hartford schools, both Monday, Feb. 16, and Tuesday, Feb. 17, are days off for students, with schools closed for Winter Recess.
