Our 2024 Greater Hartford Shakespeare Festival was a big undertaking — and an even bigger success!

We staged two productions for the first time in our 33-year history. We added microphones and speakers to better serve our continually growing audience. Expanded our pre-show entertainment and food options. Sold branded merchandise, which was a surprise hit. And, we deepened our relationships with the staff and faculty at the University of Saint Joseph.

Staging this Festival is a marathon race and a labor of love. 11 months of hard work paid off with a new record for attendance. And, that success would not be possible without the hard work of our dedicated board of directors, volunteers, cast, and crew, as well as our passionate foundations, sponsors, donors, advertisers, partners, and — most importantly — our fans.

If you attended Hamlet and/or The Taming of the Shrew, we are hoping you will take a brief moment to take our post-festival survey by CLICKING HERE.

We now turn our attention to planning the 11th season of the Shakespeare Book Club that begins this October, and the 2025 Greater Hartford Shakespeare Festival. We look to increase our supporters, board members, and volunteers to continue to delight our audience and serve our community. I hope you join us on this next journey.

With tremendous appreciation,

Herb Emanuelson
President of the Board of Directors
