Report: Upscale, Dine-In Movie Theater Closes In Hartford

The 2-year-old cinema offered dining and bar options in a redeveloped part of the city near the convention center.

HARTFORD, CT — An upscale movie theater across from the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford closed for good Tuesday, yet another movie theater that has struggled in the post-Covid era.

The Hartford Courant reports that Apple Cinemas at 39 Front St., Hartford, has closed, a sign announcing the closing on its door.

Known as Apple Cinemas Hartford Dine-In, the facility wasn't a typical movie theater, but was, rather, a 2-year-old dining and bar destination in a redeveloped part of Hartford close to the Connecticut Science Center, the convention center and the University of Connecticut's Hartford campus.
