Retired Firefighter Saves Man's Life At Hartford Parade

A retired firefighter marching in the Hartford St. Patrick's Day Parade jumped into action when his longtime friend collapsed.

HARTFORD, CT — A retired firefighter who was marching in the Hartford St. Patrick's Day Parade helped save his friend's life after he went into cardiac arrest.

The state auxiliary police trooper suddenly collapsed and his lifelong friend and retired firefighter Tom Dalton quickly started CPR, according to the Hartford Courant.

First responders who were on-duty or marching in the parade also came to the trooper's aid and quickly got him to the hospital where he is recovering.
