Serious I-84 Crash Cleared In East Hartford: UPDATE

EAST HARTFORD, CT — Traffic on Interstate 84 in East Hartford was halted after a serious two-vehicle accident Monday morning, according to the state Department of Transportation, but it is now cleared.

The DOT reports the crash on a rain-slickened I-84 East heading into Hartford between exits 53 and 55.

As a result, the left and center lanes of the highway were initially closed as crews tended to the accident scene, but state officials later closed the highway completely.

The accident was first reported at 9:53 a.m. and the DOT now has the accident off its ongoing incident report list.
