Snow, Sleet, Ice Prompt Winter Weather Advisories For Northern CT
Here's how much to expect and the latest timeline, according to meteorologists.
Northern areas of Connecticut are expected to get a round of wintry weather Thursday into Friday, according to meteorologists.
Winter weather advisories from the National Weather Service are in effect from 5 p.m. Thursday until noon on Friday for the Hartford area, Connecticut River Valley, and Tolland and Windham counties.
In the Hartford and Connecticut River Valley areas, mixed precipitation is expected, with total snow and sleet accumulations of up to two inches, and ice of up to one-tenth of an inch, according to the National Weather Service.

For Tolland and Windham counties, up to two inches of snow and sleet is also expected, but these areas may see additional ice. The National Weather Service is predicting between one-quarter to one-third of an inch of ice accumulation.
The precipitation could create slippery road conditions for the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes, meteorologists caution.

In Tolland and Windham counties, “travel could be very difficult, with tree and powerline damage possible,” the National Weather Service said.
