Someone's Snake Slithers Into East Hartford Apartment, Owner Sought: Animal Control

EAST HARTFORD, CT — An East Hartford resident recently had an Indiana Jones moment, likely asking himself or herself the iconic movie hero's oft-quoted question about slithering, serpentine creatures.

As a result of this resident's encounter, East Hartford Animal Control is searching for the owner of a boa constrictor discovered inside an apartment on Nutmeg Lane.

In a social media post Thursday morning, animal control officials said the snake slithered into a residence at 115 Nutmeg Lane before making itself at home inside the apartment.

Officials described the reptile as what appeared to be a pet boa constrictor.

“If you recognize this slithering friend, please call us at 860-291-7572 and leave a message,” East Hartford Animal Control wrote in the post.

No injuries were reported, and officials did not say how long the snake had been inside the apartment before it was found.

Animal Control is asking anyone with information about the snake’s owner to contact the department.
