Special Election Scheduled to Fill Hartford Seat in State House
The seat is vacant due to the election of Douglas McCrory to the state Senate.

HARTFORD, CT — A special election to fill a Hartford vacancy in the Connecticut House of Representatives will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017.
Gov. Dannel Malloy scheduled the election to fill the 7th District seat in the State House of Representatives, consisting of portions of Hartford. The seat was most recently held by Douglas McCrory, who resigned after being elected to serve in the State Senate during special elections that were held in February
Under state law, the governor is required to issue a Writ of Special Election within ten days of a legislative vacancy, and a special election must be held exactly 46 days after the writ is issued. Malloy filed the writ Friday.
