St. Francis Hospital Ramping Up Elective Surgeries
The hospital is beginning to ramp up its elective surgeries as coronavirus hospitalizations in Connecticut continue to drop.
HARTFORD, CT — Saint Francis Hospital is starting to ramp up its elective surgeries and certain critical services as coronavirus hospitalizations continue to drop in the state.
Saint Francis Hospital will screen and test all patients, colleagues and approved visitors and require everyone to wear masks at the hospital. There will be a COVID-free zone in the hospital where people who are known to not have the disease can be cared for.
There will be continued visitor restrictions and the hospital will continue its frequent deep-cleaning regimen.

"Trinity Health Of New England is enhancing safety precautions already in place in order to ramp up select surgeries, procedures and other critical services as we remain committed to providing the safe, quality care we know our patients and communities need," said Reggy Eadie, M.D., M.B.A., President and CEO of Trinity Health Of New England and Emergency Medicine Physician.
All patients who are scheduled for elective surgeries that require an overnight stay will be tested for COVID-19 within 24 hours of the procedure. Those who test positive will have the procedure postponed.
