State Car Collides With Bicyclist in Hartford
The bicyclist was transported to Hartford Hospital with unspecified injuries, police said.

HARTFORD, CT — State police are investigating a collision between a state-owned SUV and a bicycle on a Hartford highway Wednesday afternoon, which resulted in injuries to the bicyclist.
According to a state police report, the collision occurred at 2:20 p.m. on the Conlin-Whitehead Highway. A 2013 Ford Expedition, registered to the State of Connecticut Department of Administrative Services, entered the highway from Pulaski Circle, traveling eastbound to access Interstate 91, when it struck a bicyclist on the eastbound travel portion of the roadway.
The bicyclist, Felix Rivera, 54, of Hartford, was transported to Hartford Hospital with unspecified injuries. The driver of the SUV, Gary McCahill, 69, of Waterford, was not injured, police said.

A LinkedIn profile for McCahill states he works as a radiation control physicist for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Douglas Bernier at Troop H at 860-534-1000.
