State Police Seek Help Probing Serious Hartford Crash

Police said the accident on Interstate 84 Wednesday night seriously injured a female teenager from Hartford.

HARTFORD, CT — State police Thursday afternoon said they're looking for the public's help as they investigate a serious accident on Interstate 84 westbound in Hartford Wednesday night.

The crash left a female Hartford teenager seriously injured, according to the accident report released Thursday afternoon.

The accident occurred at about 7:46 p.m. Wednesday when a 2013 Honda Civic and a 2006 Acura collided at Exit 45.

The driver of the Acura, reported as an 17-year-old Hartford girl, suffered "serious injuries" injuries in the collision, with the vehicle she was driving ending up smashing into a guardrail, across the travel lane of the Exit 45 offramp and down an embankment.

She had a 15-year-old female passenger who suffered a minor injury, police said.

The Honda Civic, which had five people inside including the driver, ended up on the left shoulder of the Exit 45 off ramp.

In the Civic, a young passenger was transported to the Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford with suspected minor injuries.

The rest of those in the Civic either had no injuries or minor injuries.

Connecticut State Police at Troop H in Hartford said Thursday the accident remains under investigation.

Police are also looking for anyone who may have dashcam footage of what happened Wednesday night as well.
