State Representative Removed From Legislative Positions

A state representative was removed from positions and is being urged to resign because of conduct.

HARTFORD, CT — The speaker of the house is urging a state representative to resign from office because of personal conduct, according a letter from Speaker of the House Rep. Joe Aresimowicz (D-Berlin).

The letter was sent Wednesday afternoon by Aresimowicz to Rep. Angel Arce D-Hartford.

Arce was told in the letter he was being removed from his positions as assistant majority leader, vice chairman of the transportation committee and as a member of the Transportation, Housing and Finance, Revenue and Bonding committees.

The conduct is regarding messages to a teenager, according to a Hartford Courant report cited in a WTNH story.

According to the Courant, the messages to the 16-year-old were from a Facebook account.
