“We are grateful for the opportunity to provide Hartford youth with a stable food source and food education resources,” shares Stephen Iasimone, Regional Vice President of Stop & Shop. “Just in time for National School Lunch Week, we are excited to provide this grant to those who may be experiencing food insecurity given the pandemic, and also may be struggling due to changes in school learning this school year. It is our hope that members will leave the Boys & Girls Clubs with nourished stomachs and minds, and the ability to make good, healthy eating decisions.”
With the help of Stop & Shop’s school food pantries, the Boys & Girls Club’s Food Security and Access Programs will provide 300 Hartford Club members, ages 6-18, healthy meal choices and a healthy environment, with the goal of fostering a culture of wellness.

Stop & Shop, together with the Boys and Girls Club of Hartford, will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, October 15th, beginning at 11:00am at the Asylum Hill Boys & Girls Club located on 170 Sigourney Street in Hartford, Connecticut.
