The study, completed at the end of last year, crunches numbers in such categories as office density, cost of living, unemployment rate and other statistics and boils it down to a single numerical score.
The ratings system is based on a score of 100 and Hartford's total score was 32.59. Riverside's score was 25.54.
Conversely, the top places to have an office job were: Raleigh, N.C., at 69.85; Austin, Texas, at 68.27; and San Jose, Calif., at 60.46.
Yardi Kube cited three factors impacting Hartford's negative rating:
• A "challenging" economic environment.
• A high cost of living.
• A low office mobility rate.
