Gonzalez was immediately taken into custody and transported to Troop H for processing, according to state police.

State and Hartford police conducted a search of the building and the perimeter was secured, with no additional suspects located, police said.

According to state police, the suspect is believed to have damaged various utility components in the building, resulting in "power outages and system failures" in the comptroller's building.

State police said no offices in the building were breached and 165 Capitol Ave. was "not a targeted incident."
