Suspected Steroid Dealer From Hartford Arrested In Manchester
A Hartford man was arrested by a task force for alleged steroid sales near a Manchester fitness club.

MANCHESTER, CT — A suspected steroid dealer has been charged on warrants for allegedly doing business in Manchester, police said.
Shirwan Latif, a 41-year-old who lives in Hartford, was picked up Wednesday near Edge Fitness, located on Pavilions Drive in the Buckland Hills commercial district, police said. The East Central Narcotics Task Force had been monitoring his activities, police said.
He was selling steroids popular with bodybuilders that went for $70 to $90 a vial, according to a police source.

His primary charge on two warrants was possessing a narcotic substance, according to judicial system records. On a third warrant, it was conspiracy to possess them.
He posted bonds of $50,000, $75,000 and $75,000 and is due back in court on Jan. 25, judicial records show.

Latif is also on probation for a 2013 sexual assault conviction, records show. The sentence was 12 years prison suspended after three, with a 10-year probation.
