SUV Strikes, Kills Pedestrian On I-91 In Hartford: State Police

HARTFORD, CT — A pedestrian was killed in an accident on I-91 in Hartford on Tuesday night, according to state police.

Police said a 2021 Hyundai Palisade was driving southbound near exit 33 in the left lane.

The pedestrian, identified as Omar Johnson, 43, of Hartford, was in the left lane in front of the SUV when he was hit. The SUV came to rest in the right shoulder of the highway.

Johnson suffered serious injuries and was declared dead at the scene of the crash.

The driver wasn't injured and declined medical attention, police said.

The case remains under investigation.
