Tractor Trailer Wreck Cleared In Hartford: Update

HARTFORD, CT — Rush-hour traffic was backed up for much of Thursday morning after a tractor trailer crash on Interstate 91 in Hartford, but the crash has now been cleared, according to the state Department of Transportation.

DOT officials said a tractor trailer collided with a "fixed object" on I-91 south between exits 27 and 28.

As a result, the DOT said, the right and center lanes were closed.

The incident was reported at 6:54 a.m. and the scene was finally reported cleared at 9:54 a.m., three hours after the crash, according to the DOT.

State officials were reporting a traffic backup of 1.5 miles all the way back to just prior to Exit 29A.

WFSB Channel 3 posted traffic cam footage showing what appears to be an Amazon 18-wheeler taking down a light pole in that area. WFSB reported no injuries.
