Traffic Was Backed Up On I-84 In Hartford After Crash

The accident resulted in two lanes being closed.

HARTFORD, CT — Interstate 84 east was a traffic mess this morning after a three-vehicle accident, that has since been cleared, closed lanes on the interstate.

According to the state Department of Transportation, the crash was first reported at 9:50 a.m. between exits 50 and 51 on I-84.

This had resulted in the closure of the two, right-hand lanes on the highway, backing up traffic 2.7 miles from exits 44 to 50, DOT officials said.

As of 10:57 a.m., the crash was cleared, according to the DOT's Twitter feed.
