Update: Both Crashes On Route 2 In Hartford Cleared

Two separate crashes had caused motorists some issues.

HARTFORD, CT — Route 2 in Hartford was a traffic mess after separate accidents on both sides of the roadway Thursday morning at about the same time, but both are now cleared.

According to the state Department of Transportation, a single-vehicle accident on the eastbound side of the highway had closed the right lane of traffic there.

The accident happened on the Founders Bridge "outbound," just prior to Exit 3.

This accident was reported at 8:57 a.m. and the DOT reported the crash was cleared at 9:51 a.m.

Meanwhile, a few minutes after the first wreck, a minor two-vehicle accident on Route 2 in the westbound side of the highway resulted in the left lane being briefly closed on the opposite side of the highway.

This crash was reported in the vicinity of Exit 2W, but it was quickly cleared and didn't appear to be a major accident.

The accident was reported at 9 a.m. and it was cleared by 9:07 a.m., according to the DOT.
