Three Crashes On I-84 In Hartford Cleared: UPDATE

HARTFORD, CT — Interstate 84 in Hartford was a traffic nightmare after three separate rush hour wrecks in the city at about the same time, according to the state Department of Transportation.

All of those accidents, however, have been cleared, though residual traffic jams still impacted motorists afterward.

The DOT reports the first accident involved three vehicles on I-84 East between exits 51 and 52, resulting in the right lane being closed.

That accident happened at 5:03 p.m. and it is now no longer listed on the DOT's incident report.

Shortly thereafter, the DOT reported a second, three-vehicle collision on I-84 East, this time between exits 44 and 46, with lane closures expected. This had caused a 1.4-mile traffic jam.

The second crash was reported at 5:07 p.m. and it is now no longer listed on the DOT's incident list.

Finally, another accident was then reported at 5:26 p.m. on I-84 West between exits 46 and 45, resulting in the left lane being closed and causing a 3.4-mile traffic jam.

That accident was reported cleared at close to 6 p.m.
