Trinity Health Care Begins Vaccine Rollout For Hospital Workers

HARTFORD, CT — More than 1,100 Trinity Health of New England workers have been vaccinated as the organization starts the vaccine rollout, according to a statement from the company. Trinity received the vaccine shipment of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine at Saint Francis Hospital Dec. 15.

Trinity said that it's running a "detailed and comprehensive COVID-19 vaccination program for colleagues and other health care workers throughout Connecticut and western Massachusetts."

Distribution of the vaccine continues at Saint Francis Hospital, Johnson Memorial Hospital, Saint Mary’s Hospital, and Mercy Medical Center, located in Springfield, MA.

"I have full confidence in the safety and efficacy of the vaccine," Reginald Eadie, president and chief executive officer of Trinity Health Of New England, said in a statement. "I am proud of our Trinity Health Of New England team who are working tirelessly ‘behind the scenes’ to ensure an efficient, safe vaccination program day in and day out, allowing colleagues within our health care system and beyond have access to the vaccine if they choose to receive it."

Trinity Health Of New England’s Connecticut hospitals will receive an additional shipment of 975 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine this week. In addition to the Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine, Trinity Health Of New England was expecting to receive a two-part shipment of the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine beginning this past Tuesday.

According to the Connecticut’s Department of Public Health, Trinity Health Of New England will receive 5,500 doses of the Moderna vaccine specifically designated for its Connecticut hospitals.
